The existing insulation in this attic was not compliant with the latest standards in Title 24 California building codes. It was vital to have an insulation rating that met Camarillo’s climate zone. Together with the customer, we selected a product that exceeded the R-22 requirement for the area — R-30 batting insulation.
We first cleaned up debris and vacuumed out the old R-11 insulation from the attic. Our team adhered to local safety standards in Camarillo regarding hazardous materials. Plastic curtains and sealed bags ensured that no free-floating particles could escape.
Next, our workers sanitized the area. The treatment included a natural way of killing odor-causing bacteria in the air, resulting in a space that is free of musty smells. Prior to laying down new batts insulation, the crew rodent-proofed and sealed any entry points. Now this attic is safer, up to code and energy-efficient.
