The insulation in the attic was torn by rodents and covered in feces. We also found that the basement rim joists had no insulation at all. We started off in the attic by removing all of the old insulation. Sanitation of the attic floor was done to eliminate odor and to get rid of harmful bacteria left behind in rodent droppings. We then rodent proofed the attic to help prevent future infestation. After, we air sealed all of the gaps to prevent energy leaking from living spaces to the attic. Then we installed new fiberglass insulation. This will help regulate temperature in the home, keeping it more comfortable in the winter and summer. Finally, we finished off by adding new insulation in the basement rim joists for maximum energy efficiency in the home.
