Have you been hearing noises in your attic? This customer had a rodent issue and wanted an inspection to see what can be done. All of the batt insulation was contaminated with rodent feces, torn up by the rodents for nests, and ruined by tunnels the rodents had made. We needed to replace everything so we started by bagging all of the old insulation to safely remove and dispose from the home. Next, we vacuumed the attic floor to remove any feces and torn insulation. After, we sanitized the attic floor to get rid of any harmful bacteria and odor. Our next step was to rodent proof the attic to prevent future infestation. We then air sealed the attic floor to make the attic energy efficient. Finally, we finished by installing new R38 fiberglass insulation.
