The insulation had lost its R value over time and was no longer effective. First, we had to remove all of the old insulation and sanitize the attic floor. To increase energy efficiency, we air sealed the gaps to prevent energy from seeping through living spaces. We finished by blowing in cellulose insulation until the R value reached R38 to help with energy costs throughout the year.
