Homeowners don’t usually go into the crawlspace often which can cause future costly damages. For this home, we found the crawlspace had no insulation and needed to be cleaned. One of the benefits of new insulation for our clients is to save money on their energy bills. We began our work by cleaning the surface areas. This step allows us to remove any lingering odors in the crawlspace. Then we performed rodent proofing in the crawlspace. This process involved sealing holes and gaps we found to prevent future costly damages to the home. We then moved on to installing R-38 Owen’s Corning batts insulation per California building code. The job was finished by placing a moisture barrier which helps to eliminate moisture. It also helps with preventing water damage.
