Choosing the right R-value for insulation is crucial because of the role that climate plays. The federal ENERGY STAR program recommends that for the Glendale area, R-values from 30 to 60 are the most cost-effective for an uninsulated attic. The R-38 batts insulation we installed also exceeded Title 24 California building code requirements for energy efficiency.
To replace the insulation for this client, we first had to remove the existing material by vacuuming it out in sealed bags, as required by local codes. After cleaning the space and sealing any gaps, we installed the new batt material on the attic floor. Our certified insulation experts helped upgrade the attic’s thermal resistance for steady temperatures inside year-round.
