After you have decided upon the roofing system, materials and color you would like installed, we can provide you with a final estimate and determine a start date that is convenient for your schedule.

Roof Removal (if applicable)

Note: This section only applies to projects in which a roof is being replaced. Those who are having a roof installed on a new construction can skip down to Step 4.

On the agreed-upon start date, the Atticare team will first roll out coverings around your home to protect the grounds during the removal and installation process. Then, we will go up on the roof and begin detaching and disposing of your old shingles and sub-roofing materials until the deck boards are completely exposed.

This gives us an opportunity to properly assess the condition of the deck boards and decide whether any need to be replaced before moving forward. We will replace those that have sustained any damage and make sure the foundation is in prime condition before moving on to the sub-roof installation.

Sub-roof Installation

Before we can lay the shingles, our team must first attach the sub-roof underlayments. These materials help insulate your home and prevent moisture from passing into your attic, leading to rot, mold and mildew. The sub-roof may include moisture-resistance layers, drip edges, and ice shield materials. The exact underlayments we install are engineered around protecting against the New Jersey climate. These sub-roof layers are a crucial component of the roofing system so we will make sure they are properly installed and resistant before we start installing the outer layer of your roof.

New Roof Installation

Now that the stage has been fully set, the Atticare team can begin to install the new, high-quality roof on your New Jersey area home.
