This client wanted their insulation refreshed. To get rid of the old insulation, we used a powerful vacuum and removal tubes. Our crew wore protective gear and hung plastic sheets to prevent free-floating particles in the air. We carried out the existing insulation and debris in sealed containers, adhering to local health codes when handling hazardous materials.
Next, we cleaned the attic’s surface, rodent-proofed and began air sealing. We eliminated these vulnerabilities by caulking around wire openings, vents and other drafty spaces. Sealing the attic helps maintain the desired temperature in the home and avoids ice jams in the colder months.
We closed all the drafts to maximize energy efficiency and utility savings for the owner. Batts insulation was installed according to Title 24 CA building code.
