If your indoor temperature fluctuates during hot or cold weather, it could be due to outdated insulation. Newer insulation increases R-value — the thermal resistance to temperature flow. The higher the R-value, the better insulated a home is. California’s Title 24 building code sets the R-value requirement that we meet or exceed with every home project.
To install new material in this home, we had to remove the existing attic insulation. Our crew wore protective gear and hung plastic sheets to safeguard the areas of the home that led to the attic. We used a heavy-duty vacuum for old insulation cleanup, and our sealed containers ensured that no insulation material would escape on the way to its safe and responsible disposal.
We then sanitized the space, killing odor-causing bacteria, and rodent-proofed to prevent unwanted guests. Finally, our crew installed new batts insulation on the attic floors for a more efficient home.
