When was the last time you replaced your attic insulation? This customer knew they had very little insulation and the insulation that was there had depleted substantially in R value. Upon inspection, we also found there was a rodent issue that needed to be addressed. We got right to work by bagging all of the insulation in heavy duty construction bags so it can be safely transported away from the home. Once the insulation was gone, we vacuumed the attic floor to get rid of any rodent droppings and debris. Next, we sanitized the attic floor to get rid of any lingering odor and harmful bacteria. Rodent proofing was done to help keep rodents out of the attic. We then air sealed the attic floor for maximum energy efficiency and finished off by installing new fiberglass insulation.
