There are many reasons for homeowners to be concerned about the status of their existing insulation. One of the reasons many homeowners contact us is that these services can be time-consuming and generally messy. The first order of business is to establish what kind of cleaning the attic needs. In this attic, we found damaged insulation and began our work by first removing it. To do this we used a vacuum and removal tubes. Then we cleaned the attic’s surface to eliminate odors. After we air sealed all of the gaps to prevent heat and cold leaks from the living space to the attic. Another preventative service we did was rodent proofing holes and gaps. This part of our service is important to avoid costly future damages. We finished by installing R-38 fiberglass insulation to help our client to save money on their energy bills.
