The attic and the crawlspace in homes are not always maintained properly. One of the reasons is because homeowners don’t usually go into these spaces often. We found the attic of this home to have damage insulation and the crawlspace had none. One of the benefits of new insulation for our clients is to save money on their energy bills. Another benefit is to be more comfortable in their home. Our work began by first removing the existing insulation using a 19 HP vacuum and removal tubes. After we began our next step by cleaning the attic’s surface areas. This step allows us to remove any lingering odors in the attic. We then performed rodent proofing in the attic. This process involved sealing holes and gaps we found in the attic, crawlspace, and exterior. This step is important to prevent future costly damages to the home. After we air sealed all of the gaps to prevent heat and cold leaks from the attic to the living space. We finished the attic by installing new insulation and bringing it up to code. We then moved on to cleaning the crawlspace and prepped for installation. Finally, we installed new fiberglass insulation in the crawlspace.
