For this property, we found that there was no existing insulation in the crawlspace. The garage also had air ducts with old insulation that needed to be removed. We started our work by cleaning the basement and garage service areas to remove any lingering odors. We then performed air sealing to prevent hot or cold leaks. Once this process was completed we installed new Owen’s Corning R-19 Batts insulation in the crawlspace. We finished our work by removing the old insulation wrapped around the metal air ducts, sealed air leaks using foil tape, and install new R-6 reflective insulation.
