When was the last time you had your attic inspected? Insulation ages and loses its R value over time. This causes your energy bill to raise since both your heater and AC need to work even harder to get your home to a nice even temperature. This attic had old insulation which was leading to heating issues this winter. To help make this home energy efficient, we first needed to remove all of the existing insulation. There were signs of rodent activity so to prevent a large infestation, we rodent proofed the attic. We then vacuumed and sanitized the attic floor to get rid of any lingering odor and bacteria. Next, we did air sealing to cover any energy leaking gaps. Finally, we finished off by installing new batt insulation. This home can now enjoy a nice even temperature all year round!
