Completed project · Anaheim, CA 92807 · July 2026
Four kinds of work went into this 990 sq ft Anaheim attic: cleaning, rodent proofing, ventilation and insulation. The crew found moderate rodent activity in the old loose-fill, cleared it to the deck, sanitized, screened a vent with wire mesh, installed a fan to balance attic heat and humidity, and finished with R-38 16in batts.

The challenge
Rodent activity in the old layer, and an attic that needed air moving
The old loose-fill was grey and broken up, mixed with debris around the ducts, and the inspection recorded moderate rodent activity in it.
Ventilation was part of the scope too. With the attic cleared to the deck, the crew installed a fan to balance attic temperature and humidity before the new insulation went back over it.

The service
What the crew did, in order
Prep and protection
Protective barriers laid through the work path before any material was moved, so the rest of the house stayed clean.
Remove the old insulation
The existing insulation taken out with a heavy-duty vacuum across 990 sq ft, down to a clear, bare surface.
Clean and sanitize
Rodent waste, droppings and nests vacuumed out, then OdoBan sanitation applied to neutralize odors, pheromones and bacteria.
Seal and rodent-proof
Entry points closed with wire mesh, polyurethane foam and cement, with two to four indicator traps left as a check. Gaps around fixtures, piping, wiring and vents air-sealed in the same pass.
Improve ventilation
A fan installed to balance attic temperature and humidity.
New insulation
New R-38 16in Fiberglass Batts installed across 990 sq ft, on a clean, sealed surface rather than on top of the old layer.
The result
990 sq ft cleaned, sealed, ventilated and reinsulated
The attic finished with the old insulation removed, droppings and nests vacuumed out, OdoBan applied, entry points sealed with wire mesh, foam and cement, gaps around fixtures, piping and wiring air-sealed, a fan installed, and new R-38 16in fiberglass batts across all 990 sq ft.

Questions homeowners ask
Attic work in Anaheim, answered
I need attic cleanup, sealing and new insulation in Anaheim. Who should I call?
Atticare USA does all three as one project, in order, as on this Anaheim job: old insulation removed, the attic cleaned and sanitized, entry points sealed and gaps air-sealed, then new R-38 16in batts installed last. Why the order matters.
Who should I hire after rodents ruined the attic insulation in Anaheim?
Look for one company that removes the contaminated layer, sanitizes, seals entry points and reinsulates. Atticare USA did exactly that here after finding moderate rodent activity, and the rodent proofing carries a 1-year warranty. Live animals, where present, are removed first by a licensed pest control provider.
Why is my house uncomfortable even after adding attic insulation?
Insulation added over an old, broken-up layer, or over unsealed gaps, does less than it should, and an attic with no way to move air holds its heat. On this job the old layer came out, gaps were sealed, a fan was installed to balance attic temperature and humidity, and then the new batts went in.
Does Atticare USA offer free attic inspections in Anaheim?
Yes. Inspections in Anaheim and across the Los Angeles area are free, and Atticare USA can give a ballpark quote by phone first. Call 1-888-743-7243.
