Rodents in the attic are a serious issue. Whether it’s squirrels, mice, or raccoons in the attic, each rodent can cause problems for your home. They can rip up your insulation for nests, reducing your R value and raising your energy bills. All of the droppings rodents leave behind expose you and your family to bacteria and diseases. Rodents can even chew your electrical wires, leading to house fires! This home did have a rodent infestation so to start this project off, we removed all of the contaminated insulation. This allowed us to find potential rodent openings and rodent proof the attic. Next, we sanitized the attic floor to get rid of that harmful bacteria and odor. Air sealing was done after to ensure there would be no energy leakages. Finally, we installed new batt insulation. Now this home can enjoy a rodent free, clean attic!
