The challenge
Old loose-fill and debris over the whole attic floor
The before photos show old loose-fill spread across the joists, flecked with debris, with wiring running over the top of it.
The air ducts were being replaced as well, so the attic had to be emptied before any new work started. With the deck bare, the crew could clean and sanitize it, find and close the gaps around pipes, ducts and the framing, and run the new ducts before the insulation went in.

Air ducts removed and replaced to code, matching the existing diameters.
New insulation
New R-38 24in Fiberglass Batts installed across 1,170 sq ft, on a clean, sealed surface rather than on top of the old layer.
