The before photos show the crawl space floor as open soil, with broken brick, stone and other debris scattered across it in places. The scope called for a reinforced vapor / moisture barrier over that soil, sealed at the piers and around the perimeter.
In the attic the job was different: a storage platform. Plywood laid across the joists gives a walkable, load-bearing surface that sits over the insulation rather than pressing down on it.
