Two spaces at this Pacifica home. In the attic, three-quarter inch plywood was laid over the joists to make a walkable, load-bearing storage platform without compressing the insulation beneath it. Below the house, 1,500 sq ft of crawl space was cleaned and a new reinforced vapor barrier was laid over the soil and sealed at the piers and perimeter.

The attic side of this job was storage decking. Laying plywood boards over the joists gives a surface to walk on and store things on, and building it over the joists keeps the insulation underneath from being crushed.
The crawl space side covered 1,500 sq ft. It was cleaned, then a new reinforced vapor / moisture barrier went down over the soil, sealed at the piers and around the perimeter. No rodent activity was found.
