Old batts hanging over bare soil
The before photos show the old yellow batts pulled loose from the joists and hanging in torn strips, with loose pieces lying on the bare soil below.
That left the space needing two things, not one: new insulation fitted up against the subfloor, and a barrier between the ground and the underside of the house.

Floor protection and dust barriers set at the access point before any material was moved, so the rest of the house stayed clean.
Remove the old insulation
The existing insulation taken out with a heavy-duty vacuum, down to a clear, bare surface.
Clean and sanitize
Debris vacuumed from hard surfaces, then OdoBan sanitation applied to neutralize odors and bacteria.
Seal and rodent-proof
Preventative rodent proofing: likely entry points closed with wire mesh, polyurethane foam and cement. Gaps around fixtures, piping, wiring and vents air-sealed in the same pass.
New insulation
New R-19 16in Fiberglass Batts installed in the crawl space, on a clean, sealed surface rather than on top of the old layer.
Crawl space and vapor barrier
Crawl space cleaned before the new insulation went in. A new reinforced vapor and moisture barrier laid over the soil and sealed at the piers and perimeter.
