The challenge
Sagging batts and open penetrations under the floor
The before photos show the old batts under the floor sagging between the joists, some pulled loose and bellied down below the framing. The job record marks rodent activity as moderate, with droppings and nests in the space.
The scope also called for sealing where pipes, wiring and vents pass through the subfloor. Re-hanging insulation without closing those openings would have left the same routes in, so the sealing came before the new batts went up.

Protective floor barriers and dust-barrier tunnels set through the work path before any material was moved, so the rest of the house stayed clean.
Remove the old insulation
The existing insulation taken out with a heavy-duty vacuum, down to a clear, bare surface.
Clean and sanitize
Rodent waste, droppings and nests vacuumed out, then OdoBan sanitation applied to neutralize odors, pheromones and bacteria.
Seal and rodent-proof
Entry points closed with wire mesh, polyurethane foam and cement, with two to four indicator traps left as a check. Gaps around fixtures, piping, wiring and vents air-sealed in the same pass.
New insulation
New R-19 24in faced Fiberglass Batts installed in the crawl space, on a clean, sealed surface rather than on top of the old layer.
